She revealed that during the extraordinary sessions, the obstacles that slow down the achievement are identified and dismantled by all means, whether through legislation or budgets.

She said that all projects are a priority, especially the housing projects, and that the standards for implementing the new Kuwait airport rise to the golden level.

This came after the Cabinet held the second exceptional field session yesterday, chaired by His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled, in the new passenger building T2 at Kuwait International Airport, which is being built on an area of ​​120,000 square meters with a budget of 169 million dinars.

The new passenger terminal building T2 contains incoming and outgoing bridges with 4 lanes each, multi-storey car parks with a capacity of 5,000 parking spaces, a road network system, other service buildings, and storage tanks to protect the building in the event of rain.

In light of the Cabinet’s interest in following up the implementation of development projects and on the sidelines of His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled’s tour accompanied by the ministers to the T2 project at Kuwait International Airport and setting the appropriate mechanism to put this project and other projects into effect, His Highness the Prime Minister and the ministers were briefed During the tour, the various facilities and facilities included in the project.

In this regard, the Cabinet also heard an explanation by the Minister of Public Works and Minister of State for Communications and Information Technology, Dr. Rana Abdullah Al-Faris on the latest developments in the progress of work and the stages that have been completed.

The Cabinet also discussed the recommendation contained in the minutes of the meeting of the Public Services Committee regarding the Kuwait International Airport (T2) project and related projects and facilities. In this regard, it was briefed on the following reports:

1- The periodic report submitted by the Ministry of Public Works regarding the stages of implementation of the works related to the Kuwait International Airport (T2) project until the end of June 2021.

2 – The report of the General Secretariat of the Supreme Council for Planning and Development on the challenges facing the new Kuwait International Airport (T2) expansion project and related projects and facilities through what emerges from the automated system for preparing and following up the development plan, and the proposed solutions to avoid them.

3- The report of the General Administration of Civil Aviation regarding the communications and information technology (ICT) systems of the Kuwait International Airport (T2) project and related projects and facilities.

The Cabinet commended the efforts made by (the Ministry of Public Works, the General Administration of Civil Aviation, the General Secretariat of the Supreme Council for Planning and Development, and the relevant government agencies), which resulted in a significant increase in the completion rate of works related to the Kuwait International Airport (T2) project and other projects. and related facilities. The Council also praised the fruitful cooperation and keenness of the authorities to take everything that would expedite the realization of the project.

The Cabinet decided to instruct the concerned authorities to move forward with the continuation of the efforts made by them, cooperation and coordination among them to complete the executive procedures related to the Kuwait International Airport (T2) project and related projects and facilities, and to prepare the project according to the highest standards that are commensurate with the nature of future requirements, in order to ensure the consistency of the program The scheduled time for the construction works with the project’s operating plan, and to overcome any obstacles that may face its implementation.

Within the framework of the government’s great interest in studying recreational projects in a way that leads to meeting the needs of comprehensive development, the Council of Ministers discussed the recommendation of the Public Services Committee regarding the initiative of recreational centers in the six governorates, which comes within the projects included in the medium-term plan, and the Council of Ministers decided to assign the Public Authority for Youth in coordination with Each of (the Public Authority for Sports, and the authorities it deems appropriate) to put in place the appropriate mechanism regarding recreational centers and activate the role of youth centers in all governorates of Kuwait in a way that contributes to attracting families and individuals, achieving the desired aspirations in this regard, and providing the Council of Ministers with the outcome, within two weeks. of its history.

The Council was also informed of the committee’s recommendation regarding the investment of parks and squares located within the regions, and the statement of the Public Authority for Agriculture Affairs and Fish Resources regarding the direction to establish a government company to manage and invest public parks in accordance with the procedures and texts in force in this regard, and the Council of Ministers decided to assign the Public Authority for Agriculture Affairs and Fish Resources to coordinate With each of (the Ministry of Finance, the Kuwait Municipality, and the authorities it deems appropriate) to develop appropriate perceptions about the possibility of investing public parks and squares located in areas (residential, investment, commercial, etc.), and to provide the Council of Ministers with the outcome within two weeks from its date.
